Yotpo is powerful but only delivers value when correctly configured. Many merchants install the app, collect a handful of reviews, and never realise the full potential of the platform's review request automation, display widgets, and Google Shopping integration. This guide walks through a complete Yotpo setup from installation to ongoing management.
Installation and Initial Configuration

Review Request Email Configuration

For most product categories, 10–14 days after dispatch is optimal. Customise the email template to match your brand, and A/B test subject lines.
Adding Review Widgets to Your Theme
Yotpo provides several widget types for your storefront. The product review widget sits on the product detail page below the description. The star rating widget displays the aggregate score near the product title. The carousel widget can be placed on collection pages or the homepage to show recent reviews. Install these via the Yotpo dashboard's widget builder or by pasting the embed code into your theme.
Enabling Photo and Video Reviews

Integrating Yotpo with Klaviyo
The Yotpo/Klaviyo integration unlocks segmentation based on review activity. You can create Klaviyo segments for customers who left a 5-star review (target for referral programme), customers who left a 1–2 star review (trigger customer service follow-up), and customers who were sent a review request but haven't responded (additional nudge flow).
Google Shopping Integration
Connect Yotpo to Google Merchant Center via the Integrations section of the Yotpo dashboard. This enables product review stars in Google Shopping. You need a minimum of 50 reviews across your account to trigger Google's eligibility threshold. Monitor your Google Merchant Center account for feed errors after connecting.
