How to use Shopify Plus Organisation Admin to manage multiple storefronts, users, and settings from a single dashboard — and what it still can't do.
Managing five stores individually is five times the admin. Shopify Plus's Organisation Admin centralises that overhead — letting you manage users, view performance, and apply certain settings across your entire store portfolio from a single login. Here's what it can do, and where it still falls short.

Setting Up Organisation Admin
Organisation Admin is available to all Shopify Plus merchants. Access it at your-organisation.myshopify.com/org/admin. Your Shopify Plus account manager can help you associate existing stores with your organisation. Each store retains its own admin but is visible and partially controllable from the org level.
User Management Across Stores
This is where Organisation Admin genuinely saves time. Instead of creating an account for a new staff member in each store, you create them once at org level and assign store-level permissions. When someone leaves, you remove them from the org and their access to all stores is revoked instantly. This is a significant security and compliance benefit for larger teams.
Aggregate Analytics
The org-level analytics dashboard shows aggregate performance across all stores: total revenue, sessions, conversion rate, and top products. This is useful for a quick health check but lacks the depth of individual store analytics. For serious cross-store reporting, connect all stores to a BI tool or use the Shopify Analytics API to build a unified view.

Expanding Your Organisation
Each additional store on a Shopify Plus plan within your organisation is available at a reduced cost — known as an expansion store. This makes multi-market and multi-brand architectures genuinely economical at scale. Expansion stores are full Shopify Plus stores with their own inventory, checkout, and theme.
